About Me:

I have been playing basketball since I was 5 years old. Have always been known as a "winner". Won several championships throughout middle school and high school basketball career. As a freshman in high school was named JV MVP of the season and played on Varsity on varsity in the playoffs. I was always the smallest player on the court so I had to find ways to make an impact and use my weakness to my advantage by being the smartest and quickest on the court. Hustling harder than anyone else who may be taller or stronger than me. Went to college on a basketball scholarship, and worked my way onto the main team as a Freshman. Went to playoffs the 2 1/2 years I was in college playing with the team. Once moving into the coaching realm of basketball, the winning tendencies continued. First team I coached was a boys basketball team full of 2nd graders. We had multiple undefeated seasons and championships throughout the 5 seasons I coached them.

How I can help you improve your game:

I will focus on the players individual skill level to determine what skills need enhancing as well as what their goal is for themselves in training. We will watch film together to enhance their basketball/game IQ and how to translate that to the court in real game situations.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

This may vary depending on the strengths and weaknesses of each individual player.

Warm-Up/Stretches: Light jogging, dynamic stretches, and mobility drills.

Fundamental Skills: Ball Handling, Passing, Shooting (Form shooting, free throws, mid-range shots, and three-point shots, focusing on technique and consistency)

Offensive Skills: Footwork (Pivoting, jab steps, and cuts), Scoring Moves (Layups, floaters, and post moves), Game Situations (Pick-and-roll, isolation plays, and off-the-ball movement)

Defensive Skills: Stance and Footwork (Defensive slides, closeouts, and positioning), Rebounding (Box-out drills and timing for offensive and defensive rebounds), Defensive Strategies (Man-to-man, zone defense, and press)

Physical Conditioning: Running (Sprints, suicides, and interval running to build endurance), Strength Training (Push-ups, squats), Agility Drills (Cone drills, ladder drills, and reaction drills to enhance quickness and coordination)

Mental and Tactical Training: Game IQ (Understanding basketball rules, tactics, and decision-making), Video Analysis (Reviewing game footage to identify strengths and areas for improvement)

Career summary and accomplishments:

I have coached boys and girls select and rec league teams ages 6-11 for about 8-10 seasons total over a span of 3 years. I was the head coach of a private school middle school girls basketball team for 1 year and assistant high school girls coach for the same school. The following year I was promoted to the head coach of the high school girls team and coached them for 1 year. The skill level of the private school girls team was beginner level and the history of the school's girls basketball program was not much to hang their hat on. That year I helped lead the team to their first win in the girls basketball program history. I currently am an assistant coach for a select boys 9u team, I have been assisting with this team since the boys were 6u.

Best coach I ever had:

My AAU coach and my High School coach were my 2 favorite coaches. They pushed me to my full potential and treated every player equal no matter the skill level. They focused on fundamentals and getting the best out of each player on the court. Winning was important but not more important than constantly growing as a player and as a person in every aspect of your life. They also each emphasized being better people off the court. Character as a player and a person was always an important thing for them with their players. I strive to be a coach like them every time I step on a court whether for a practice or a game. Winning is something they instilled in me throughout my time as a player for them, but they also instilled integrity and being the best person I can be on a daily basis. I hope to instill the same things in every player I coach or train.

What athletes and parents should know about me:

I am extremely passionate about kids, not only in coaching, but in education. I tutor all ages in a variety of different math subjects. I also have worked for the past 5 years for a youth leadership, academic enrichment, and college readiness program. The focus was to build character and prepare them for life after high school in whatever avenues they want to pursue. I hope to make an impact and a difference in any kids lives that I come in contact with in whatever aspect of their life I meet them in.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you determine the coach isn't a good fit after your first lesson, let us know within 24 hours and you're eligible for a refund. We will also be happy to recommend another coach - be sure to contact our support team.

Our coaches are open to helping athletes of any age and skill level. Please message your desired coach to ensure their skillset fits your needs.

AU was created by former collegiate and professional athletes. We understand the benefits of training with a private coach. It develops discipline, boosts confidence, and provides an undeniable advantage - whether you are just learning the game or looking to earn a college scholarship. All AU coaches are required to pass a thorough onboarding process and we proudly showcase a 10% acceptance rate, so you can trust you're training with the best.

At the end of the day, our mission is to provide athletes with better opportunities to succeed through coaching. You won't find a platform, and group of dedicated specialists, more excited to help you achieve your athletic goals!
