Why Train With Me?

I want to use my past experiences and knowledge to help young student-athletes maximize their potential as baseball players. I understand that there is more to pitching/hitting/fielding than just mechanics and will create a wholistic training program to help student-athletes achieve their goals.

Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
I have had many great coaches throughout my life and they all have had one thing in common: the ability to clearly and effectively communicate with their players. Two-way communication is extremely important in a player-coach relationship, and is something I plan to emphasize in my training program.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
I am very passionate about the game of baseball (pitching, specifically) and am willing to go above and beyond just mechanical adjustments to help student-athletes achieve their baseball goals. I understand that no two players are the same, and the importance of tailoring training programs to each specific player. I am very easy-going, responsive, and want training to be fun!

Coaching Background

Summary of Coaching Background
I have experience coaching youth baseball (ages 10-12) in the Washington, D.C. area, but am open to coaching all age groups. Throughout college, I worked with our own pitching staff on a daily basis to talk through mechanical adjustments, pitching approach, strength training, etc. I understand the need to adjust training programs based on age, ability, and future goals.
How can you help someone improve their game?
I plan on taking a wholistic approach when it comes to training - this includes mechanical video analysis, pitching/hitting-specific training (mechanical drills, strength training, stretching/flexibility, arm care, etc.), pitching/hitting approach, and the mental aspect of pitching/hitting.
What does a typical training session look like?
Training sessions will vary based on goals. Initially, I want to set goals and then build a training program to achieve those goals. From there, training sessions would include a proper warmup, light throwing, flatgrounds or bullpens (depending on pitching schedule), and some video analysis. Video is a major facilitator in improvement for me - you can feel like you are doing one thing, but video can show something completely different (feel vs. real). I am also happy to set up a schedule for in between sessions that will include strength training, stretching, drills, and arm care (based around athlete's current throwing schedule)
