Do me a favor, think about a time where you have felt like you don't have the resources to meet a stressful demand, how does stress manifest physiologically? (Sweaty hands, shaky, increased HR etc). Now think of a time when you felt like you were prepared for the challenge infront of you... how did that excitement manifest? I would bet at a physiological level, the same symptoms manifest for both events... so what is the difference? How you appraise situations matters, your interpretation of events is affected by all sorts of things; past experiences, vicarious experiences, self perception etc. Learning how to reappraise situations and accept failures as part of the learning experience is key to growth. When it comes to high level competitors we only see the end results of their training, we do not see the hours, days, weeks, months, years that lead up to that event. I work with competitors of all backgrounds to help them leverage their motivation to keep them moving in the direction of their goals using the most up to date sport and performance psychology research. Looking forward to working with you!

To be honest I was only ever a high school athlete, I had an injury that kept me out of college athletics. Baseball was always my main sport but I played several sports growing up (basketball, soccer, football, cross country etc). I currently practice my own mental techniques while playing the worlds most humbling game... golf!
I have worked with performers of all different kinds of backgrounds (athletes, infantry, pilots, theater actors, businesses). Self awareness is the foundation of making improvements, sometimes that self awareness makes us find something we may not particularly like in ourselves. That is your first crossroad, is your goal more important than your ego?
Training sessions will typically be conversation based and some activities. We will have traditional sport psych sessions along with giving some assignments for the next time we meet. It may be journaling or keeping track of different ineffective thoughts you have during a training session/performance. Sessions will change based off the needs of the individual athlete.

The best coach I ever had was a high school baseball/basketball coach. He was obviously very techinically sound with his coaching and had a great understanding of the sport he coached. Above that, he not only focused on our athletic development but also our personal development. Sports are a great conduit to learn life lessons I.e. dealing with adversity, showing humility, creating self awareness etc.
To the point above the athletes and parents should know that I hold high standards for development. I will give assignments and things for the performer to do and expect them to have worked on it by our next meeting. I will foster the same ideals my favorite coach had by giving you ways to learn how to emotionally regulate during performance and in your every day life. The only way for us to learn how to use mental skills during a high pressure situation, is to use them in your everyday life. I practice what I preach and live the lessons I teach.
I am also recognized by AASP (Association of Applied Sport Psychology) as a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) which shows credibility from my governing body that I am qualified in both education and applied experience!

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.
Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.
Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!
We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.
Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.
Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you determine the coach isn't a good fit after your first lesson, let us know within 24 hours and you're eligible for a refund. We will also be happy to recommend another coach - be sure to contact our support team.
Our coaches are open to helping athletes of any age and skill level. Please message your desired coach to ensure their skillset fits your needs.
