Hi, my name is Jessi, and I'm thrilled to be your mental health coach. As a former college athlete and experienced coach, I know firsthand how important mental strength is to performance both on and off the field. My goal is to help student-athletes develop the mindset and tools they need to overcome challenges, build confidence, and excel in their sport and personal lives. About Me:

I am a dynamic professional with a diverse background in psychology, coaching and athletics. I also spent years celebrating and motivating teams with retail space as a store manager. As a college athlete, I developed a passion for teamwork, leadership and performance under pressure. Transitioning into coaching I am known for high energy and being extremely motivational.

How I can help you improve your game:

Improving your game involves a combination of physical, mental and strategic development. Consistency is practice with transition in the games. Set clear goals and identify specific areas for improvement, create measurable goals to track your progress. Develop resilience, focus and confidence through mental training techniques like visualization, mindfulness and positive self-talk. Work on strength, endurance, flexibility and conditioning to ensure your body can meet the demands of your sport. Study the game. Watch film, learn strategies and understand situational plays to improve decision making. Seek feedback and have health habits with diet. Continue to push yourself out of your comfort zone to grow. Compete against tougher opponents and learn from mistakes. Also, stay positive. Celebrate small victories and view setbacks as opportunities to learn.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

Brief discussion of what the athlete wants to focus on the session, whether its improving confidence, managing anxiety or staying present during competition. A guide through a positive visualization exercise where they imaging themselves performing ideally in their sport. Ask the athlete to visualize challenging game scenarios they might face and mentally rehearse how they would handle them with confidence and composure. Focus on a specific skill or situation the athlete struggles with. Work on ways to manage emotions during high pressure moments such as staying calm during a mistake or staying composed during a close game. Ask the athlete to reflect on how the session went and any mental challenges faced, and how they overcame them. Help them with specific mental goals for their next practice or competition. Ending the session by reinforcing the athlete's mental strengths and providing encouragement for applying the techniques learned in future performances.

Career summary and accomplishments:

I began my coaching career as an AAU women's basketball. This network led me to being be assistant high school basketball coach and later leading an undefeated 16U rec leage softball season.

The best coach I ever had was my high school softball coach, he had a lasting impact on my growth as an athlete and a person. He believed in me and pushed me to my highest potential while supporting me through challenges. He was energetic and inspiring. He was the best coach because he help me develop as an athlete, build character, instill confidence and foster a love for the game that lasted a lifetime.

I am passionate about helping student-athletes thrive both mentally and physically. As a former college athlete, I understand the challenges of balancing performance, pressure, and personal growth. My experience coaching basketball and softball combined with my background in psychology and criminal justice, allows me to connect with young athletes on a deeper level. I am committed to creating a safe supportive environment where athletes can overcome mental barriers, build resilience, and unlock their full potential. My goal is to empower athletes and support families in nurturing both performance and well-being.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you determine the coach isn't a good fit after your first lesson, let us know within 24 hours and you're eligible for a refund. We will also be happy to recommend another coach - be sure to contact our support team.
