Summary of Career and Accomplishments
I played soccer my entire life including high school soccer and competed in various semi-pro teams. These leagues include SWPL and UPSL.
Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
The best coach I ever had was the first coach i ever had. This coach gave me the opportunity to play in my first ever team. He was the best coach because he ensured the players enjoyed practicing to the fullest. Training never felt like a chore. Quite the opposite, I loved going to soccer practice so much i would cry when i couldn’t attend. There was no pressure of performance, instead we were partaking in an activity we all loved to do. Another important aspect was the confidence he gave me. This confidence enabled me to unleash my inner beast and perform at an extremely high level.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
Athletes and Parents should know that I am very passionate about soccer and spend lots of time and energy becoming more knowledgeable. I am a responsible person who takes their job very seriously. I am currently working on multiple sports/soccer related certifications to advance my knowledge even further.

Coaching Background

Summary of Coaching Background
I have coached people of all ages ranging from 4 years old to adults. I have coached various youth teams as well as adults competing in semi-pro leagues.
How can you help someone improve their game?
I can help someone improve their game in various ways. One way is to practice the fundamentals. 1.Fundamentals are important in everything you do in soccer and in life. When you build a house, the most important part is the foundation. You can have the biggest, most luxurious house, but if you dont have a strong foundation, it will collapse at any moment. Soccer is the same way, therefore I will strongly focus on fundamentals such as, passing, receiving, shooting, dribbling, defending, scanning etc. 2. We, the student and I, will detect their strengths and weaknesses. It is very important for a player to understand their strengths and weaknesses in order to prepare for a match. I will ensure the student practices and improves their weaknesses to the point where they no longer have any weaknesses. At the same time we will spend lots of time honing their strengths so they can exploit their virtues on the pitch. Bruce Lee once said, "I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times." 3. I will help my student understand the game MENTALLY. One of the greatest midfielders once quoted, “soccer is played with the brain. Your feet are merely your tools”(Pirlo). We’ve all seen players who have great speed, strength, and technique who weren’t able to become pro and/or excel at the pro level. This is because they lacked soccer iq. Great soccer IQ involves predicting what will happen next before it happens. This gives the player an advantage as they will be one or more steps ahead of the competition. Giving them the advantage of knowing where the opponents, teammates, and free space is located in order to make the best decision possible. 4. Last but not least is HEALTH. This involves both physical and mental health. Nutrition and mental health are often the most overlooked aspects of a sport, but are often one of the most important. I have done lots of research in both of these topics and am currently becoming certified in these areas. Just like a race car, an athlete needs the right amount and type of fuel to perform at its best. You can be as good you want, but if your body doesn’t have the sufficient energy to perform the movements with enough speed and strength, it will be useless. In soccer, the most important aspect is FOCUS. In order to focus 100% your brain needs to be healthy and full of energy. Mental health is the MOST critical component in life, including soccer. The toughest thing about soccer is being able to handle the pressure. The pressure of making mistakes that can result in losing the game, not being good enough, “disappointing your teammates, coaches, and family”. This creates stress. Stress causes the body to release cortisol, which is a hormone that affects a person mentally and physically. This causes a player to have anxiety, have stiff muscles, lack of concentration, and lack of confidence. There have been hundreds of professional players who have had the potential to become the best in history, surpassing the likes of messi, cristiano, and pele. But, most of them never reached their potential because their mental health was not optimized. Resulting in lack of confidence and injuries.
What does a typical training session look like?
A typical session will start off with a dynamic warm-up in order to prepare the body and mind for training. This part will warm up the muscles while simultaneously stretching the body. It also preps the mind to start focusing. The next phase would be practicing the fundamentals. This usually involves drills targeting passing, receiving, scanning, shooting, and dribbling. This is the part where we focus on improving weaknesses. Then we move onto position specific game-like drills. This is the most important part of training where we will spend the majority of time. During this part, we will be doing exercises that mimic real game play. The exercises will be personalized to the student’s preferred position. This part is crucial to the player as it creates a bridge where they can translate what we practiced in the drills to performing those movements in a real game. One example of this includes, having a striker receive the ball while facing away from the goal. He/she will scan before receiving the ball in order to find the space. Once they receive the ball, they will fake one way, then quickly go the opposite way to the space and have a shot at goal (which will be a small target).
