I make a conscious effort to not only work with athletes on their game but also take my time learning the individual to approach them and alter their training to best fit them. I also spend a lot of time listening to each person trying to understand their story and their goals. Finally, sports psychology is my biggest passion so I make an effort to approach each individual with mental health in mind to better prepare them for competition.
A session will vary depending on the individual and what their goals are. I will always make sure ample directions are provided and the athlete alongside their parents understand the goal of everything we are doing. We will always start with a debrief followed by our regular warm up. After that, I will provide instructions on workout and what the goal of the session is. During the workout, I do my best to connect with each athlete to understand how they are feeling and making adjustments as I see fit. Finally, we finish with a cooldown and a conversation about how we would like to proceed for future sessions and what adjustments we can make.
I worked with my high school for 2 years at Monterey High School for XC and Carmel High School for Track. This was during the COVID pandemic and I was providing workouts remotely. Despite this challenge. Our team saw everyone achieve personal bests and enjoy their time at practice. After graduating with my master's and finishing my running career. I could pursue coaching, I started with coaching at San Bernardino Valley College. In 5 months, our middle distance program saw great improvements. The whole roster saw personal bests and most notably, saw two sub 2:00 800m runners while starting at 2:08 and 2:13 from high school. I then decided to take a job at Hartnell College where I graduated from. We placed 2nd in Conference and 2nd in Northern California during Cross Country. During track, I was once again tasked with the middle distance program and the entire roster saw personal bests. Most notably, my top runner never ran the 800 prior and ended up finishing with a 1:57.0 and qualifying to the Northern California final meet. I now currently coach at Pomona-Pitzer for both XC and Track. We are currently ranked 4th in the Nation by USATFCCCA.
The best coach I ever had was my D2 coach at Western Oregon University. His name is Mike Johnson and his knowledge of the sport is unprecedented. Despite me not succeeding very much while being coached by him. I believe that my time with him has shaped me into the athlete I became as well as the. coach I strive to be. He taught me so much about competition and how to approach training. I am very thankful to have been coached by such a legendary coach.
I will always give the best effort I can to every athlete I ever work with. I resonate with all types of athletes. As someone who did not succeed in the sport very early. I learned the importance of work ethic and consistency. I make sure that I will always work hard to show up for your kid in learning all their traits to approach their training in the most optimal way possible for them to succeed and enjoy the process.

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.
Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.
Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!
We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.
Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.
Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you determine the coach isn't a good fit after your first lesson, let us know within 24 hours and you're eligible for a refund. We will also be happy to recommend another coach - be sure to contact our support team.
Our coaches are open to helping athletes of any age and skill level. Please message your desired coach to ensure their skillset fits your needs.
