Athletic Background
Summary of Career and Accomplishments
I began playing soccer at the age of 6, and began ECNL/DA at 12. I continued playing multiple sports while playing soccer up until college. I won a state championship in high school, finishing with State Player of the Year, and 2x League MVP. Following high school I began playing at the University of Southern California where I was able to start every regular season game my sophomore year, making it the round of 32. After this season, I decided to transfer to Villanova University where I am currently attending.
Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
The best coach I ever had is someone who I am still coached by presently - Ben Dragavon. I have been training with him for 6 years now, and he has helped me raise the bar for myself each time I step out on the field. He has believed in me since I first started training with him, and is the reason why I have grown into the player I am today. The way he has coached me has bled into how I am able to coach myself and hold myself accountable during individual trainings and games.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
Even though I'm midway through college, I've already gained substantial insights that I believe can be valuable for athletes striving to reach the next level. Having experienced the demands of high-level Division-1 soccer programs, I'm keen on passing on both my technical expertise and life lessons to younger generations, aiding them in their journey towards success.
Coaching Background
Summary of Coaching Background
I do not have a substantial coaching background, but I have prior experience in previous private trainings for younger athletes. I have had the opportunity to help athletes improve both their technical skills and tactical knowledge of the game.
How can you help someone improve their game?
I believe one of my strengths as a goalkeeper is my technical knowledge (diving technique, hands, footwork). From my experience, building these skills as a young goalkeeper is fundamental in an athletes development towards playing at a higher level. Through numerous years of individualized goalkeeper coaching I have learned drills to sharper these skills.
What does a typical training session look like?
I will use the first session as a baseline to see where the athlete is technically (hands, foot skills, diving technique). After the first session I will create a training plan that involves footwork, diving progressions, passing, crossing, and fundamental positioning. If an athlete has specific things they would like to work on then we can work them into the sessions. I will generally have different drills each week unless an athlete has a favorite drill they want to continue with.
