Athletic Background
Summary of Career and Accomplishments
In High School, I received several honors, including Second Team All-Conference, First Team All-Conference, and Second Team All-State.
In my first year of college, I received the honor of All-Conference Honorable Mention. I am hoping to improve on this in my second year!
Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
The best lacrosse coach I ever played under was Coach Dan Reid, my youth coach from 5th - 8th grade. Coming onto the team, I was scared to have the ball at all, but then he put us through drills that gave me confidence in my ability, and ultimately made me into the player I am today. He was very tough on all of us on the team, but only because he wanted us to be the best.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
Something that I believe you should know about me is that I believe that those "tough" coaches can't always get it done. I don't believe in yelling at your kids, so I don't want parents or athletes to worry about that. Sometimes I can be stern, but only in certain situations. I am usually a very laid back person, and that's how I intend to run my training sessions.
Coaching Background
Summary of Coaching Background
I have only formally coached one year (a fall and spring season), and I served as a volunteer assistant coach. I was mostly pulling players aside individually and telling them how to improve their game. The offense was very productive during these times, and the players succeeded when implementing what I taught into their game.
How can you help someone improve their game?
I am very good at doing individual work with players. I have a lot of drills and exercises that are perfect for gaining individual skills for the offensive mind. I will also do the drills with the trainee to prove that they work and to also improve my game along the way.
What does a typical training session look like?
I will start with a quick stretch and warm-up passing. Then we will move on to some shooting drills, which will depend on the player and their skill set. Then we will keep working on certain skills, as I believe repetition is the key to making a habit. Then, I will end the session by giving the trainee things they can do at home to help improve their game.
