Athletic Background

Summary of Career and Accomplishments
I’m Antwain Walker, a dedicated college football player who always strived for excellence and pushed myself to be the best. I started as a true freshman at Northern Illinois University, where I quickly made my mark as a cornerback. Throughout my career, I earned recognition as a 2x Division III All-American and played a key role in helping my team win a Division III National Championship. I was honored with First Team All-CCIW selections in both 2022 and 2023 and was named to the D3football.com First Team All-Region 5 in consecutive years. In 2022-2023, I was proud to receive the Team Defensive Player of the Year award and the Silver Linings Award for my leadership and perseverance. I was also part of a Mid-American Conference Championship team, proving my ability to compete and win at a high level. Off the field, I maintained a strong academic record, earning Academic All-CCIW honors with a GPA above 3.5. My experiences across multiple college football programs helped me grow as a player and a leader, and I now use that knowledge to mentor and train others who want to take their game to the next level.
Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
The entire North Central College football staff would be my favorite coaches because of their dedication to developing players both on and off the field. Their commitment to excellence, attention to detail, and ability to bring out the best in their athletes set them apart. They created a winning culture built on accountability, teamwork, and discipline, which played a huge role in our success as a program. Beyond football, the coaching staff genuinely cared about their players as individuals. They emphasized personal growth, academic success, and leadership, ensuring that we were prepared for life beyond the game. Their passion, knowledge, and ability to connect with players on a personal level made a lasting impact on me, shaping not only the way I played but also how I approached challenges in life. Their influence extended far beyond the field, making them more than just great coaches—they were mentors, role models, and leaders who helped shape me into the person I am today.

Coaching Background

Summary of Coaching Background
During my time as a varsity cornerbacks coach at Oswego East High School, I had the opportunity to work closely with athletes to help them develop their technique, footwork, and overall understanding of the game. Drawing from my own experience as a college cornerback and All-American, I focused on teaching advanced defensive strategies, emphasizing fundamentals, and instilling the discipline and mindset needed to compete at a high level. My coaching approach was all about helping players refine their skills, build confidence, and develop leadership qualities that would benefit them both on and off the field.
How can you help someone improve their game?
I can help athletes improve their game by bringing firsthand experience, technical knowledge, and a proven competitive mindset to their training. As a former college football player, I understand what it takes to compete at a high level. My approach focuses on fundamentals, technique, and game awareness, ensuring that athletes develop the skills they need to excel on the field. I work on footwork, agility, coverage techniques, and football IQ, helping players understand offensive schemes, route recognition, and how to put themselves in the best position to make plays. Beyond the physical aspects, I emphasize the mental side of the game, teaching athletes how to stay focused, confident, and resilient under pressure. Every player is different, so I tailor my coaching to fit each athlete’s strengths and areas for improvement. Whether it’s refining technique, increasing speed and explosiveness, or improving reaction time, I provide the tools and knowledge needed to elevate their performance. My goal is to not only help players succeed on the field but also to build a strong work ethic and leadership mindset that will benefit them in all areas of life.
