Get to know Coach Terrence

About Me:

I’m Terrence Campbell, a speed and performance coach with over 25 years of experience developing athletes through sprint mechanics, hurdle training, and mindset coaching. I specialize in helping youth and collegiate athletes unlock explosive speed, prevent injuries, and build the confidence to compete at the highest levels. My passion lies in transforming raw potential into disciplined excellence—on the track and beyond.

How I can help you improve your game:

I help athletes get faster, more confident, and more efficient—without wasting motion or risking injury. Whether you’re sprinting, hurdling, or just trying to build your athletic base, I focus on breaking down your mechanics, correcting inefficiencies, and building explosive power through smart, intentional movement. But it’s not just physical—I coach the mindset too. I teach athletes how to prepare mentally, respond under pressure, and show up with confidence when it matters most. Improvement isn’t just about training harder—it’s about training smarter, and that’s where I come in.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

Every session with me is built with purpose—from the first step to the last rep. We don’t just train; we teach, correct, and elevate.

1. Warm-Up & Movement Evaluation (15–20 min)

We begin with dynamic mobility work, joint activation, and posture prep to open up the body. I assess how the athlete moves—looking closely at stride mechanics, alignment, and hip engagement. This warm-up isn’t just about sweating—it’s a diagnostic tool to guide our training focus for the day.

2. Technique & Form Training (20–30 min)

Next, we break down the fundamentals. Whether it’s sprinting or hurdling, we isolate form flaws and rebuild with precision—using drills that reinforce proper ground contact, arm mechanics, and knee drive. Every cue is intentional. We film, we correct, and we repeat until the body understands what the mind expects.

3. Speed Development & Mechanics Drills (30–45 min)

This is where we push performance. We transition from technical form work into full-speed application—using resisted runs, tempo sprints, acceleration drills, and reaction-based training to develop explosiveness and rhythm. Athletes learn to move fast and smart.

4. Sports Psychology Integration (Throughout)

Mental prep is embedded in every phase. I coach mindset in real time—teaching athletes how to reset after a bad rep, how to stay focused under fatigue, and how to visualize success. Every drill is a confidence rep, and every session ends with a brief reflection to reinforce growth.

Wrap-Up & Recovery Tips (5–10 min)

We finish with cooldowns, flexibility work, and a quick mental reset. I often give recovery assignments, nutritional tips, or mindset drills to carry into the next 24 hours. Because greatness doesn’t stop when the session ends.
