Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
Both my varsity baseball and basketball coaches were the best coaches that I ever had in my playing career. Not only were the teams extremely successful, but it was their passion and enthusiasm that had a genuine impact on the players. The preparation and thoroughness of each individual game plan ensured that our team was ready for any type of challenge on game days. The energy that they had was infectious, and I carried that same enthusiasm and energy level into my coaching career to have the same impact that they had on me.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
I grew up on Long Island, NY and played basketball and baseball throughout my life. I am a huge Yankees, Knicks and Jets fan.
I have a Bachelors in Physical Education with a Concentration in Adapted Physical Education from SUNY Cortland. I also received my Masters in Health Education from Hofstra University, where I graduated with honors.
After teaching Physical Education, Health Education and coaching at the middle school and high school level for 8 years in New York, I decided to move to Charlotte, NC to embark on new challenges both professionally and personally.
I am now the Director of Business Development for Kidokinetics Charlotte, a physical education and sports company working with ages 2-12 at daycares, preschools and elementary schools where I continue to carry out my passion and enthusiasm for sports, physical activity and coaching, spreading my knowledge and positive energy to students across the Charlotte area.

How can you help someone improve their game?
With a genuine care and interest in the progression and growth of my athletes both on and off the field, I will set the tone with great passion, energy and enthusiasm. I am a firm believer in the concept of getting 1% better every day, so every training session we will set out to get a little bit better each day, with the goal of great improvement in the long term.
In sports, the little things make the biggest differences. Not only do me and my athletes have a great time while practicing and training, but we will have a big focus on fundamentals and keying in on specific parts of their game that they are looking to improve.
Each session, we will progress from what we did the previous session, and build a routine where we will find great improvements and changes in the long run.
What does a typical training session look like?
A typical session will involve stretching and warm ups, followed by key focuses of the day. I like to dial in and have expectations and a plan for each session where we will work on specific skills. Everything I do will always have a purpose. After working on fundamentals and skill progressions, it is imperative to put the athlete through drills and activities that simulate a real game, as the long term goal is to take what we do and have it translate into their real games and game-like situations.
We will of course work hard and I continue to push my athletes to get the most out of them, but I have found that it is still so important to be able to make our time together fun and enjoyable so they look forward to coming back and continue to want to push themselves to be the best they can be. My passion, energy and enthusiasm paired with my knowledge of the game is a recipe for success, as I get extreme gratification from seeing the growth of my athletes.
