Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
Michael Myers, he was my tennis coach growing up. He taught me the importance of learning the strategy of the game not just technique. Those foundational skills help me to be a better coach and player today. Thinking strategizing and looking for solutions when things aren't going you're way in a match can turn the tide. Strategy is extremely important in pickleball.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
They should know that I love what I do. I enjoy seeing players learn, and improve. My expectations for my students are high but I will do everything I can to help them achieve their goals and improve their game.

Summary of Coaching Background
I've been playing Pickleball since 2017 and Coaching since 2021. I have held a variety of positions in the sport on all sides of the business. I was a Project Manager for Pickleball Global who is an organization that runs Pickleball Leagues and tournaments Internationally. I have been a Racquet Sports Director for Corkscrew Shores and was in charge of a program of over 300 Pickleball and Tennis players. I have run Pickleball leagues through my Company Pete D Pickleball Coaching since 2018. We have over 50 teams competing across Lee County at skill level from 3.0-5.0 over 4 seasons per year. I am the Head Pickleball Coach for Lee County Special Olympics In our first two years of competition I've had 10 athletes make it to the Florida State competition 5 of which finished with medals. I am currently the Head Pickleball Professional at The Landings CC in Fort Myers where I teach members and non members alike.
How can you help someone improve their game?
I use listening, watching, demonstrating, analyzing and simple explanations to help students understand and improve.
What does a typical training session look like?
A typical training session starts with a 5-10 minute warm up to get the body moving and hand eye coordination in gear. Then we will focus on one to two skills based on the athletes needs or what I see that is needed from analyzing their game. After skills are learned I recap the lesson taught and ask them to explain one thing they learned to ensure understanding.
