Athletic Background
Summary of Career and Accomplishments
I have played soccer for 18 years, 3 of them at the collegiate level. I have won 2 high school state championships with Northern High School and won the U18 2021 Maryland State Cup. I played in the USL W semi-professional league for 2 summers before starting my college career. I played as a forward at Stevenson University in Owings Mills, MD and was the first soccer player to score at our new athletic complex. We also went to MAC conference playoffs in 2021.
Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
I struggle to answer this question being stuck on 2 answers. One of my best coaches was my club coach when I was 10, who pushed me to reach my potential and not give up on myself. I had been coming off of a rough season with a different coach who negatively impacted my confidence. My coach restored my confidence while building my soccer skills and we still talk to this day. My other best coach would be my college soccer coach, she supported me in every decision and became an on-campus mother to me. She helped me develop more than I could’ve imagined during my time with her and always strived to build my confidence. She was hard on us which I loved, but she took the time to get to know her players and how to individually coach us.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
Athletes and parents should know that I love watching my players develop and grow. I am very detail-oriented while trying to keep things as simple as possible. I like to push my players to their best ability and build their confidence as a player. I am very invested in the mental health of my players and understanding that they are people first. Having fun while being focused is my favorite part of training.
Coaching Background
Summary of Coaching Background
In high school, I coached 3-8-year-olds for two years, focusing on teaching the basics and making the game fun. While in college, I coached with Level 5 Athletics coaching ages 3-15 years old. Now, I coach 9-year-olds and U18 girls at Bayside FC, which has helped me learn how to work with players at different skill levels and ages. I also have my MSYSA coaching license.
How can you help someone improve their game?
I can help someone improve their game by using my experience as a player, understanding the difficulties players may face while trying to grow, and my ability to see the field as both a player and coach. I want to build an unshakable confidence in players, which is huge during development.
What does a typical training session look like?
A typical training session with me looks like starting with individual technical work, then technical work where I hop in, and wrapping up with a finishing drill and/or game! There may also be tactical work involved as well.
