About Me:

I graduated from Mt. Spokane High School in 2017 where I Played football and competed in Track and Field. Throughout my career I earned 7 varsity letters, 4 for track and 3 for football. I was a first team all-league in discus and shot put my junior year, Senior year First team all-league running back and linebacker, and once again Senior year First team all-league discus and shot put. I was a state champion in shot put. PR of 61’ 2” shot put and 176’10” discus. I continued my track and field career at Washington State University (Go Cougs) where I threw shot put, discus, and hammer. My personal bests in college were 16.78m in shot put, and 49m in discus.

How I can help you improve your game:

One of my best attributes as a coach is my ability to break down film and discuss it with my athletes in detail to help them gain a better understanding of what I am asking them to do. I was a very undersized thrower, therefore I had to be very detail oriented and focus on my technique in order to compete with the best of the best. I spent hundreds of hours studying film and trying to perfect my craft, and I know multiple ways to explain to athletes what it is they need to work on.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

A typical training session would begin with a short discussion about what the focus or objective of practice will be, then dynamic warm-up to get the body loose. Next we would work drills for specific positions in the throw. Then, we begin with stand throws, 1/4 & 1/2 turns, different South African drill variations, and finally work our way up to the full throw. After our throwing session, I will send athletes home with a workout designed specifically for the throws. Throughout practices, I will have small competitions such as who can throw the furthest with their off-hand, best overhead shot put throw, discus roll, etc. to keep it fun.

Career summary and accomplishments:

I began my coaching career in 2021, as I volunteered to help coach the throws at Mt. Spokane High School. In 2024 I accepted the head throws coach job at Mt. Spokane. I recently accepted a Graduate Assistant Track and Field coaching job at Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD and will be moving there in the fall to coach the throws and earn my masters in sports performance and leadership.

Best coach I ever had:

I have been blessed with many great coaches in my career, the best coach I ever had was Gary Baskett or Coach "B". Coach B is a Washington State Track and Field legend, inducted into the Hall of fame in 2001. His teams won five state titles – including three straight from 1994-96 – placed second four times and third twice in the 4A and 3A classifications, producing 33 individual state champions and 23 high school All-Americans. He sent more than 120 athletes to compete at the collegiate level over the years. I was fortunate enough to have a really close relationship with Coach Baskett even after he retired, he still continued to train me, invite me over to his home to watch film and drill, and came to support me at my biggest meets. He is a big part of the athlete/man I am today and he taught me how to be a champion.

What athletes and parents should know about me:

As serious as I took my athletic career, I take coaching even more serious and am very passionate about helping others achieve their goals and forming a true connection with them, just as the great mentors and coaches in my life did for me. I have more than 14 years of experience in Track and Field and have made so many connections within the sport which allows me to help young athletes who want to compete in college get in touch with college coaches and start the recruiting process.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you find yourself needing to cancel or adjust your booking within 24 hours of your purchase, just let us know. We'll provide a refund - no questions asked. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we're here to support your learning journey.
