Over a decade of football coaching experience has shown me that success starts in the details. I train athletes to think smarter, play sharper, and grow as men—on and off the field. By teaching sound technique and position-specific fundamentals, athletes build confidence, improve performance, and become both disciplined players and strong young men.

The first of my family to engage in athletics, I had to fight for opportunity to play the game I loved in high school. That fight continued into college, where I stepped off the field and joined the coaching staff, beginning my journey into the importance of every detail. Over a decade later, I've had the privilege to work with middle school students and varsity players, shaping my approach to student athletes, understanding of the game, and disciplined approach to detail. My time coaching Varsity students has led to top area pass defenses (including multiple All-Conference/All-Star/All-State defensive backs), massive improvements in Quarterback skill, and highly effective Special Teams play - alongside numerous players becoming effective young men in their families, communities, and beyond.
As a coach, I love helping football athletes understand how and why things work - the footwork, the reads, the technique - and then building the confidence to trust their preparation. I help athletes grow in skill, discipline, and character, so they leave each session sharper, smarter, and stronger on and off the field. And I never aim to stop growing in these ways myself.
Football has given me so much, and I want to pass that on to the next generation.
Each session is tailored to the athlete’s age, position, and goals - but every workout is built around the same foundation: discipline, technique, and intelligence. Mindful of their strengths and weaknesses, I focus on specific movements and situations to gain understanding, drills to improve position footwork and intelligence, and challenges to grow their confidence and leadership skills.
Sessions can include dynamic warmups and movement, position-specific drills including footwork, body control, detailed technique work, fundamentals, and more, depending upon the athlete’s needs and plans made for them.
Sessions can also potentially include situational or competitive reps, film review, chalk talk, discussion segments on what went well and the focus for next time, and more.
Ultimately, my goal every session is for every athlete to understanding why each drill matters - helping athletes think about the game, not just play it - and for them to leave confident in their progress and clear on what to work on before we meet again.
My coaching journey began in college, when stepping off the field gave me the opportunity to join the staff. Those three years sparked my passion for teaching and player development - leading me to my first coaching job with junior high receivers and defensive backs. I continued to advance in understanding the game and how to coach it, helping young athletes build discipline, confidence, and the love for the game. Every few years I moved into new positions with new opportunities to prove what I'd learned: assisting led to becoming Head Coach of the Junior High program, which in turn led to Friday nights with the Varsity staff. That's where I began to make my mark on the game, especially through Quarterback and Defensive Back development, pass defense strategy, and special teams excellence. More than any win or title, the greatest reward for me - my greatest "accomplishment" - is seeing athletes’ confidence, effort, and love for the game grow through their own hard work and growth in themselves.
My college WR coach, Coach Flannery. He was a coach who believed in who I was, what I could become, and showed me what faith looked like as a man. And he was unafraid to challenge me in all of these, on and off the field.
Even more than the little details of a position in football, I'm committed to the individual.
I'm a husband and father, served in ministry, been in the classroom, on the field - I care for people. Which, I believe, gives my coaching meaning.
I’m a teacher at heart - patient, detail-focused, and fully invested in helping athletes get better each time we meet. I believe the best players are built through consistency, effort, and understanding the why behind what they do. And learning these with someone who believes they're more than just that list.
It's from this mindset that I will push athletes to take pride in the small things - proper technique, body control, and mental discipline - because those are what translate to success on game day. At the same time, I never lose sight of the bigger picture: football is a tool to build confidence, character, and lifelong habits that go beyond the field.
Parents can expect clear communication, a safe and positive learning environment, and a coach who genuinely cares about their athlete’s growth as both a player and a person.
