About Me:

As a newly appointed track and field coach, I am eager to embark on this journey of coaching and mentoring athletes to reach their full potential. While I may not have specific career accomplishments in this field yet, I bring a fresh perspective, dedication, and a passion for helping individuals excel in their athletic endeavors.

My approach to coaching centers around fostering a supportive and motivating environment where athletes can thrive both personally and athletically. I am committed to continuous learning and staying updated on the latest training techniques and strategies to enhance the performance of my athletes.

While my coaching journey is just beginning, I am excited to collaborate with athletes, fellow coaches, and the broader track and field community to achieve success both on and off the track. I look forward to the opportunity to make a positive impact and contribute to the growth and development of the athletes under my guidance.

How I can help you improve your game:

Technical Instruction: I will provide detailed instruction on proper techniques for various track and field events, including sprinting, hurdling, jumping, throwing, and distance running. This includes aspects such as starting mechanics, stride technique, body positioning, and event-specific skills.

Individualized Training Plans: I will assess each athlete's strengths, weaknesses, and goals, and develop personalized training plans to address their specific needs. This may involve designing workouts to improve speed, endurance, strength, agility, or event-specific skills.

Video Analysis: Using video analysis tools, I will record and review athletes' performances to identify areas for improvement in their technique, form, and strategy. This feedback allows for targeted adjustments and refinement of their skills.

Strength and Conditioning: I will incorporate strength and conditioning exercises into the training program to enhance athletes' overall fitness, power, and explosiveness. This may include plyometrics, core exercises, and flexibility work tailored to the demands of track and field events.

Race Strategy and Mental Preparation: I will work with athletes to develop race strategies that play to their strengths and optimize performance. Additionally, I will provide mental preparation techniques, such as visualization, goal-setting, and relaxation strategies, to help athletes overcome nerves and perform at their best in competition.

Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation: I will educate athletes on proper warm-up, cooldown, and recovery protocols to minimize the risk of injury. In the event of an injury, I will provide guidance on rehabilitation exercises and modifications to training to facilitate a safe return to competition.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

FYI: It's important to note that the duration and intensity of each component may vary based on the athlete's training age, fitness level, and specific goals. Additionally, rest periods between exercises and sets are incorporated to allow for adequate recovery.

1. Warm-up (15-20 minutes): The session begins with a dynamic warm-up to prepare the body for the upcoming workout. This may include jogging, skipping, high knees, butt kicks, leg swings, arm circles, and other dynamic stretches to increase heart rate, improve mobility, and activate muscles.

2. Event-specific Drills and Technique Work (20-30 minutes): Athletes will engage in drills and technical work specific to their event(s). For example:

Sprinters may focus on block starts, acceleration drills, and running mechanics. Distance runners may focus on plyometric drills, running technique and adjustments, and many more.

3. Event-specific Training (30-45 minutes): Athletes will perform event-specific training exercises and workouts tailored to their event(s) and training phase. This could include:

Sprinters may do speed workouts, such as 100m or 200m repeats with full recovery. Distance runners may work on interval distance training.

3. Cool-down and Flexibility (10-15 minutes): The session concludes with a cool-down period, including light jogging or walking to gradually lower heart rate, followed by static stretching to improve flexibility and aid in recovery.

4. Feedback and Reflection (5-10 minutes): Athletes may have a brief period to reflect on their performance, receive feedback from the coach, and set goals for future sessions.

Career summary and accomplishments:

As a brand new coach, I am excited to bring my passion for mentoring and guiding individuals to the track and field arena. While I may be new to coaching in this sport, I have a strong background in strengthening and conditioning, sprinting, and long distance workouts from 3k all the way up to 10k . I am committed to applying my skills and knowledge to support athletes in reaching their full potential and fostering a positive and empowering environment for growth and development on and off the track.

Best coach I ever had:

During my formative years as a track and field athlete from 2006 to 2008, I had the privilege of working alongside Coach Brown, a mentor whose guidance proved transformative in my athletic journey. Under his tutelage, I experienced a remarkable progression, achieving significant improvements in my 400m, 200m, and 100m times.

Coach Brown's coaching philosophy was rooted in fostering a holistic approach to training, combining technical expertise with unwavering support and encouragement. From the outset, he recognized my potential and instilled a sense of belief in my abilities, igniting a fire within me to strive for excellence.

In the realm of the 400m dash, Coach Brown's meticulous attention to detail was unparalleled. He emphasized the importance of pacing, strategy, and mental fortitude, honing my ability to maintain speed and endurance throughout the race. Through targeted drills and tailored workout regimens, I began to master the intricacies of the event, shaving precious seconds off my personal best with each passing race.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you find yourself needing to cancel or adjust your booking within 24 hours of your purchase, just let us know. We'll provide a refund - no questions asked. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we're here to support your learning journey.

Our coaches are open to helping athletes of any age and skill level. Please message your desired coach to ensure their skillset fits your needs.

AU was created by former collegiate and professional athletes. We understand the benefits of training with a private coach. It develops discipline, boosts confidence, and provides an undeniable advantage - whether you are just learning the game or looking to earn a college scholarship. All AU coaches are required to pass a thorough onboarding process and we proudly showcase a 10% acceptance rate, so you can trust you're training with the best.

At the end of the day, our mission is to provide athletes with better opportunities to succeed through coaching. You won't find a platform, and group of dedicated specialists, more excited to help you achieve your athletic goals!
