After my first full season of high school baseball, I endured a stress fracture in my back that put me behind in overall performance. Over the course of 3 years of trying to catch up, I failed to make the Varsity roster. Through determination, prayer, and support from family and friends, I continued to train outside of school, and compete on club teams in the DFW area. By the time I was a Senior, I had an offer from a junior college and (2) four year universities to play baseball. I can help someone improve their game by a process of developing trust in the coaching relationship, pouring into the athlete through mentorship, and collaborating with parents on how to utilize teamwork instead of isolation as an intervention for greatness.
(Most folks prefer virtual sessions for the convenience, in person meetings are also accepted) During a typical training session, current mental health is the primary concern. Sessions may start with a beginning check-in, assessing for mental obstacles that may be standing in the way of working on the athletes desired skill(s). Once ready to move on, athlete and myself would determine the 5 Ws- What skill are you working on, Why do you want to develop it, When would you like to achieve that skill, Which challenges are pushing against you, and With what resources will we pursue that goal together. Over the course of multiple sessions, we may use interventions like breathing exercises, grounding techniques, self-assessments, coping skills, journaling and self-reflection, or prayer (only when requested by athlete).
I have had many experiences mentoring, coaching, and counseling youth athletes. From 2011 to 2018, I spent summers at Premier Prospects Softball and Baseball Academy (bought by Foundation Performance Academy) caring for the facility, running the pro shop, but also conducting some private lessons for players (hitting, fielding). During my junior and senior year of college, I was a Resident Assistant for many of my fellow teammates, becoming a leader and mentor for the younger players. Following my graduate career, I spent a year at Prosper Counseling, PLLC working with youth 8-17 years old, many of who were recreational athletes, club athletes, or high school athletes preparing for a D1 college career. During that time I performed mental health therapy, activity therapy, and play therapy.
The best coach(es) I ever had would have to be my mom and dad. Growing up, my mom always used to say "be the best at something today". No matter how well I did at the plate or in the field, I was reminded that I could pursue greatness in any area of performance: morale, the mental game, hustle, grit, perseverance.
All parents seeking mental-performance coaching should know that their child is valued, and all athletes seeking mental performance coaching should know that they themselves are valued. The foundation for a successful career in sports (regardless of the length of the career) is not only confidence in your physical and mental ability, but confidence that intrinsically you have value regardless of your ability.

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.
Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.
Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!
We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.
Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.
Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you find yourself needing to cancel or adjust your booking within 24 hours of your purchase, just let us know. We'll provide a refund - no questions asked. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we're here to support your learning journey.
