Get to know Coach Jason

About Me:

I am in my 14th year as a high school baseball coach and Instructor. I am going into my 2nd year as the Director of Operations for Gameday Arvada.

How I can help you improve your game:

1. Build Better Fundamentals

I focus on simple, repeatable mechanics that help you hit harder, throw cleaner, and field with confidence.

2. Develop Stronger Movement Patterns

We train the body to move efficiently—better balance, better sequencing, and better power.

3. Make the Game Slower for You

I teach decision-making, approach, and baseball IQ so you play calm, confident, and in control.

4. Improve Your Athleticism

Strength, mobility, speed, and coordination all play a role. We train those qualities alongside your skill work.

5. Boost Your Mindset & Confidence

Players learn how to compete, handle adversity, and trust their preparation.

6. Provide Clear, Immediate Feedback

You’ll know exactly what to fix, how to fix it, and how to practice it on your own.

7. Create Real Progress

Every session has a purpose—measurable improvement in mechanics, power, accuracy, and game performance.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

1. Quick Check-In & Warm-Up (3–5 min)

We review how the player feels, what they’ve been working on, and any recent games or practices. Then we do a short, targeted warm-up to get the body moving.

2. Movement & Mechanics Assessment (5 min)

I watch a few swings, throws, or fielding reps to identify what needs attention that day. This helps us focus on exactly what will make the biggest improvement.

3. Skill Work & Drill Progressions (20–25 min)

We break down mechanics and build them back up through a progression of drills:

Simple → controlled → game-speed

Every rep has a purpose, and I give clear, actionable feedback athletes can instantly apply.

4. Game-Like Application (10–15 min)

We finish with competitive, realistic reps so the player learns to use new skills under pressure—where it matters most.

5. Review & Take-Home Plan (2–3 min)

I recap the key improvements, what drills to do on their own, and what we’ll hit next session.

Career summary and accomplishments:

I played college baseball at Lincoln College before moving into coaching, where I’ve spent the last 14 years working at multiple levels—including Head Coach and Assistant Coach roles at the Varsity, JV, and Freshman levels. I also have 14 years of experience as a baseball instructor, working with athletes ages 8 to 21 and helping them develop strong fundamentals, confidence, and game-ready skills. In addition, I bring 5 years of experience running clinics and camps, designing high-quality training environments that focus on player development and long-term growth.

Best coach I ever had:

My college coach. He gave me the biggest opportunity in my career.

What athletes and parents should know about me:

Athletes and parents should know that I bring a player-first, development-focused approach built on years of experience as a college player, high school coach, and long-time instructor. I’ve coached at the Varsity, JV, and Freshman levels for 14 years, instructed players ages 8–21, and spent 5 years running clinics and camps designed to help athletes grow both fundamentally and mentally.

I believe in keeping things simple, clear, and purposeful. Every lesson and every rep has a reason behind it. I focus on teaching clean mechanics, movement quality, and baseball IQ—while building confidence and helping players understand why things work, not just what to do.

Parents can expect professionalism, communication, and a positive training environment. Athletes can expect to be challenged, supported, and taught in a way that helps them succeed in real games.

Above all, I’m committed to helping each player develop, grow, and enjoy the game at every level.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you find yourself needing to cancel or adjust your booking within 24 hours of your purchase, just let us know. We'll provide a refund - no questions asked. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we're here to support your learning journey.

Our coaches are open to helping athletes of any age and skill level. Please message your desired coach to ensure their skillset fits your needs.

AU was created by former collegiate and professional athletes. We understand the benefits of training with a private coach. It develops discipline, boosts confidence, and provides an undeniable advantage - whether you are just learning the game or looking to earn a college scholarship. All AU coaches are required to pass a thorough onboarding process and we proudly showcase a 10% acceptance rate, so you can trust you're training with the best.

At the end of the day, our mission is to provide athletes with better opportunities to succeed through coaching. You won't find a platform, and group of dedicated specialists, more excited to help you achieve your athletic goals!
