Hello! My name is Reese Corwin and I am a 25 year old former goalkeeper. I started coaching when I was in High School doing private lessons in my backyard. I went on to coach at 2 different high schools here in Arizona and still do private lessons. I believe I have a unique set of skills that can help you or your son/daughter achieve success now and at the next level. I played soccer for 16 years and still play casually today. I have recently graduated with my masters degree in Exercise Science with concentrations in Sports Psychology, Injury Prevention, and Performance Enhancement. I combine my soccer experience and my psychological practice in order to truly connect to the athlete and get the best out of them.

Played Soccer from the age of 4 years old up until I was 21 years old. I had the pleasure of playing club soccer at Arsenal for 8 years along with 4 years at the high school level at Hamilton (2013-2017). I was fortunate enough to win a 6A State Championship at Hamilton and enjoyed a successful 8 years playing in the first division of Arizona club soccer. I went on to accept a scholarship at CGCC here in Arizona.
I have a tremendous grasp of what it takes to be a top level goalkeeper in today's soccer. The soccer that was played 10 years ago is a lot different than it is now. The keeper has to be involved as the 11th player on the field and can no longer exclusively be a "between the pipes" goalkeeper. I have curated drills to reactions, footwork, distribution, catching, positioning, effective communication, and so much more. I believe I can enhance your skillset and abilities with a positive muscle memory development. My past experience along with my knowledge in psychology, I believe I offer more than the average coach.
Introductions. May ask them to fill out a mental skills questionnaire or something similar if I feel it is necessary at the first training session. I like to get a grasp of what I am working with so I will run through some basic footwork, positioning, and hands testing to grab a basis for practice. Once I have that figured out, we can discuss a training schedule of what we feel we need to work on. Ask the athlete what they feel they are confident in and what are they not so confident in even after the testing of skills. I prioritize stretching. I, myself, am very flexible and I can't tell you how many times my flexibility made some saves or saved me from injury. A proper warmup and a solid stretching session will be followed up with goalkeeper training. I usually do hour to hour and a half sessions. The more goalkeepers there are, the more I can do. 1 on 1s are the hardest to instruct just because a lot of drills require multiple steps or progressions and I need more bodies to serve, shoot, help with a 2,3,4 step drill.
I coached privately for a couple young goalkeepers while I was in High school and that is what kick started my interest in coaching. I went on to continue coaching at Greater Hearts and Basha High School in Arizona while I was at college. Both coaching staffs were happy to accept my training and believe I left a positive footprint on the programs success along with tremendous growth in their goalkeepers. I am looking to take on a High School soccer team or a couple club teams at the high school age level at the moment.
Best coach I've ever had was Jeff Perry. He was the coaching director at Arsenal and the head coach at Gilbert High School. I had the pleasure to play under his supervision during my last 2 years of club soccer and played against him in my senior year state semi final game. He was the best coach I ever played for because he knew how to connect to us no matter the skill, position, ethnic background, or technical ability. He could get the best out of us all. Coach Perry was mature in dealing with negative reactions, he was stoic, he was unfiltered and real with you directly. He asked for input from the leaders on the team and allowed me to play my game and dictate what happens during the game. He knew how to communicate effectively to all of our different personalities. I am eternally grateful for his teaching and support.
I care about your child and your child's passion. I care about the relationship I develop with you parents and the athlete being coached. I am honest, supportive, motivated, and respectable. I can communicate effectively and work with your schedules. I believe in my practices, training, mental education, and motivation and I hope these future students can absorb what I offer and become better soccer players while also becoming better humans by gaining more knowledge about their own mental health, motivation, & behaviors.

After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.
Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!
We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.
Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.
Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you determine the coach isn't a good fit after your first lesson, let us know within 24 hours and you're eligible for a refund. We will also be happy to recommend another coach - be sure to contact our support team.
