Get to know Coach Brian

About Me:

I was a Varsity High School Golfer 2016-2020. I Won HS County Tournament as a Freshman. I was also awarded All County Team all 4 Years. I then went on to play on the University of Delaware Club Golf Team.

How I can help you improve your game:

I have the ability to pinpoint what needs to be addressed in order to achieve maximum results without completely scrapping what is already there. I understand that no golf swing is the same and will amend and improve current swings without destroying the swing one is already comfortable with. Not only will I aid in the technical aspects listed above, but I have invaluable insight into course management and the mental aspect of the game. While a good golf swing can produce good golf scores, other things like course management and proper decision making can produce great golf scores.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

I am available to hold lessons at any public golf course near you! I will evaluate and learn the student's skills as they swing/chip/putt. I will ask what they want to improve or what end results they want to achieve. I will offer swing thoughts, tips, and drills to provide improvement. Also, of equal importance, I will simplify the innerworkings of the golf swing so they can understand how to make minor adjustments to their golf swing themselves. Each lesson will conclude with a fun golf game to implement their new skills and to make the whole experience more enjoyable.

Career summary and accomplishments:

I began formally teaching golf 4 years ago at the Links at Challedon in Maryland. I was the head summer camp coach for 30 kids in grades K-8. Here, I would set up three stations, one at the putting green, the chipping facility, and the driving range. Each station had a short teaching lesson followed by a drill/game to intentionally practice the learned skill while having fun. Also at The Links at Challedon, I would give private group/individual lessons. Adults/Kids of all levels would get a personalized 1 Hour lesson where I would address areas of their game that needed attention. I would offer swing thoughts and drills that could be practiced during the lesson and able to be implemented without my supervision outside lesson hours.

Best coach I ever had:

While I had numerous coaches through my younger years, my father was the best. He began teaching me how to golf when I was 4 years old. He would teach me the basics of the golf swing while also teaching me proper etiquette. As I got older he would then teach me how to properly manage my emotions when playing. While other coaches aided in the more technical aspects, what made my father the best was the amount of belief and encouragement he had in my golf game. Instilling confidence in my ability was most helpful.

What athletes and parents should know about me:

Athletes and parents should know that I genuinely care for your child's success and happiness when learning or improving their golf skills. I come from a big family, with 7 siblings and 6 nieces and nephews, so I understand how important it is to provide engaging and personalized instruction. I strive to create a positive, patient, and supportive environment where each athlete feels encouraged to progress at their own pace. My goal is to help build confidence, instill a love for the game, and ensure that every session is both productive and enjoyable.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you determine the coach isn't a good fit after your first lesson, let us know within 24 hours and you're eligible for a refund. We will also be happy to recommend another coach - be sure to contact our support team.

Our coaches are open to helping athletes of any age and skill level. Please message your desired coach to ensure their skillset fits your needs.

AU was created by former collegiate and professional athletes. We understand the benefits of training with a private coach. It develops discipline, boosts confidence, and provides an undeniable advantage - whether you are just learning the game or looking to earn a college scholarship. All AU coaches are required to pass a thorough onboarding process and we proudly showcase a 10% acceptance rate, so you can trust you're training with the best.

At the end of the day, our mission is to provide athletes with better opportunities to succeed through coaching. You won't find a platform, and group of dedicated specialists, more excited to help you achieve your athletic goals!
