Competing is challenging. Great athletes know the game is not just about physical skills, it’s also about getting your mind in control of the body. I work with athletes to help prevent problems before they start. I use a holistic approach and provide mental tools for peak performance. “ I think that everything is possible as long as you put your mind to it and you put the work and time into it. I think your mind really controls everything.” — Michael Phelps.

I can help someone improve their game by first identifying negative mental patterns that may be holding them back. By replacing negative self-talk with positive, empowering thoughts, we build a foundation of confidence and mental strength. I also use visualization techniques to help athletes mentally rehearse success and improve focus, ensuring they are mentally prepared for any challenge. We’ll create a personalized game day routine that helps them stay calm and centered, setting the stage for peak performance. Together, we’ll explore any anxieties or fears they may have, diving into the root causes to understand what’s at the core of these emotions. With this deeper understanding, I provide strategies to address and overcome these fears, empowering them to perform with greater clarity and composure.
In a typical session as a mental performance coach for athletes, I start by building a personal connection, creating a safe and non-judgmental space where you can feel truly heard. Using active listening and asking insightful, thought-provoking questions, I help you dig deeper into your mindset, emotions, and performance challenges. The goal is to establish trust so you can open up about any mental barriers or obstacles you’re facing. Together, we work on setting clear, actionable goals that align with your athletic aspirations and performance needs. I incorporate mindfulness techniques to help you stay focused, calm, and in control during competition and training. At the end of each session, I assign practical exercises to strengthen your mental game, often using metaphors to make complex ideas easier to understand and apply to your sport.

My first figure skating coach Susan was the best coach I ever had. I fell in love with my sport because she made it fun. She was always truthful and gave me the tools to perform with joy and to believe in myself. She showed up for herself and for me everyday. She was always patient and dedicated to me as an athlete and as a person.
As a competitive figure skater from Canada, I bring a deep understanding of high-level sports performance, having coached both amateur and professional athletes throughout my career. With over 30 years of experience in coaching and 5 years as a life coach, I've helped athletes not only improve their performance but also navigate the mental and emotional challenges that come with it. My personal journey of overcoming performance challenges has shaped my coaching approach, allowing me to relate to the struggles athletes face and offer practical solutions. I’m passionate about helping others transform their lives, having worked with women in mental health treatment and through my own experiences as a parent, including coaching my son through four years of college baseball. Outside of coaching, I prioritize a balanced lifestyle, including yoga, meditation, exercise, and spending quality time with family and friends. I’m also committed to giving back to my community through charity work, which keeps me grounded and connected to the values that drive my coaching philosophy.

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.
Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.
Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!
We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.
Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.
Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you determine the coach isn't a good fit after your first lesson, let us know within 24 hours and you're eligible for a refund. We will also be happy to recommend another coach - be sure to contact our support team.
Our coaches are open to helping athletes of any age and skill level. Please message your desired coach to ensure their skillset fits your needs.
