Come learn to love and excel in swimming with me as a Power 4 Division 1 athleteHi! I'm Lily Milner and I would love to work with you. I am a junior at the University of Utah and a swimmer on the swim and dive team. I have broken multiple top ten times and a school record in my three years at the U. Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
The best coach I have ever had is Aly Tetzloff. She is unbelievably passionate and empathetic when it comes to swimming. She creates an environment you effort is everything. If you aren't hitting your pace or doing well in practice she allows you space to work on other things rather than focusing on the negatives. However, she is tough on us and has high expectations for us to push ourselves everyday.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
I am a very driven and dedicated athlete. I love swimming and everything about it and I love sharing that even more. I am empathetic and compassionate and know how to communicate effectively thanks to my psychology major.

Coaching Background

Summary of Coaching Background
I have coaches many times at my home town club and my hometown high school.
How can you help someone improve their game?
I have competed at a very high level of my sport and I know the ins and outs of each stroke and what it takes to be proficient in these strokes. I also was an extensive knowledge of set building and how to create an effective workout for the athlete. I am also experienced in mental and mindset exercises in order to sharpen the mind and ease anxiety surrounding competing.
What does a typical training session look like?
This very much depends on the level that the swimmer is at. If the swimmer is wanting to work on technique we will spend the majority of time working on skills and drills to sharpen their technique. If the swimmer is a beginner we will work on basic skills and stroke skills in order to create a good and healthy base of the four strokes. If the swimmer is wanting to get into shape and work hard I will write sets to fit the events and strokes they swim.
