Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
The best coach I ever had was Coach Debbie Broadus. She is a very detailed oriented person and fostered my love for the game. Coach D taught me since the age of 7. Since working with her for over a decade I have gotten on the tennis team at Marymount University. I really liked that she tailored her approach to my individual strengths and weaknesses. I really liked the drills she gave me for serve. As a lefty she helped me understand tactics and strategy to use against right handed players. She is the reason why I am coaching today.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
People should know that I am very detailed oriented, and that I provide an enjoyable learning environment using interactive play scenarios tailored to the preference of the athlete. I like to provide a structured road map of success that is both on and off the court. I provide homework assignments like footwork or understanding the strengths and weakness of a certain player they like/ follow. The main objective with my pathway is for the player to build on his or her strengths, gain confidence in a playful environment that emphasizes learning and fun at an equal level. I am PTR certified, and I see coaching as a profession as well as a passion.

Summary of Coaching Background
I started coaching in 2019. I worked for 2 companies and established a portfolio of private clients simultaneously. I provided coaching sessions for groups as well as individuals at all skill levels up to collegiate level.
How can you help someone improve their game?
Improving somebody's game starts with analyzing their strengths and challenges. Next, I would enquire about individual goals and suggest a pathway forward. Once specific learning objectives have been identified (for example improving first serve percentage), I design specific training sets to address the objective and introduce them to the player in a combination of 'hand feeding' and rally-based settings. I use a combination of drills and point play to allow the player to include new skills into their game.
What does a typical training session look like?
A typical training session starts with a dynamic warm up to get our bodies activated. After the dynamic warm up I go into a warm up with the racquet. I start with 20 reps at the service line and then move back to baseline. After warm up with the racquet I ask the player what they would like to focus on that day. Once identified the focus I move to a rally based approach for 15 minutes. Then I moved to a hand feeding approach to focus on a specific technique needed. Than the last 30 minutes I focus on strategy and point play. Once the lesson is over we do a debrief and go over the homework before the next lesson.
