The Mental Game Is the Difference. Let’s Win It.

Every athlete has a vision of where they want to be—but the gap between potential and peak performance is where the real work happens. I focus on the small, overlooked details that separate the good from the elite. I help athletes sharpen their mindset, build mental resilience, and execute under pressure—on and off the field. I've worked with high school, college, and pro athletes across multiple sports, including baseball, football, tennis, lacrosse, soccer, basketball, and more. My job is to get athletes closer to their ultimate end-state by fine-tuning the mental and performance strategies that make the difference between playing and winning. Let’s close the gap and take your game to the next level.

How I can help you improve your game:

I help athletes sharpen their mental edge and elevate their performance by focusing on the small, often-overlooked details that create a real difference. My approach bridges the gap between where an athlete is and where they want to be—on and off the field.

Through my coaching experience at multiple levels, from high school to professional sports, I’ve developed a system that enhances focus, confidence, and consistency. Whether working with a baseball player refining their plate approach, a basketball player building resilience after a tough loss, or a track & field athlete mastering pre-race nerves, I tailor mental strategies to fit the specific demands of their sport.

I help athletes establish pre-game rituals and routines to enter competition with confidence. I teach strategies to stay locked in, ignore distractions, and perform under pressure. I equip athletes with tools to bounce back from failure, setbacks, and adversity. I develop their ability to adapt, reset, and execute in critical moments. I use structured reflection to help athletes learn from each game and continuously improve.

Athletes don’t just need talent—they need the right mindset, habits, and preparation to compete at their highest level. My coaching ensures they gain the mental tools to handle pressure, trust their training, and thrive in high-stakes moments.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

A typical training session is built around structure, intentionality, and actionable steps that bring athletes closer to where they want to be every single day. My approach is designed to help athletes develop consistent habits, refine their focus, and execute at a high level. Every session starts with a clear objective, ensuring that the athlete understands what they are working on and why it matters.

From there, we dive into preparation—whether it's mental warm-ups, visualization, or breathing techniques—to get into the right mindset for training. The bulk of the session is spent reinforcing key skills and applying mental strategies in a way that translates directly to performance. Whether it's refining focus during drills, strengthening pre-game routines, or working through pressure scenarios, every element is purposeful.

Throughout the session, I challenge athletes to stay locked in on the little things—the actions they can control that move them forward. To reinforce learning and ensure continued progress, I provide worksheets for them to refer to, helping them retain key concepts and track their growth. I also assign homework that includes daily actionable steps, so they are building momentum and implementing what they’ve learned between sessions.

We wrap up by reflecting on progress, identifying takeaways, and setting up the next steps so they leave knowing exactly what to apply before the next session. Training isn’t just about showing up; it’s about executing with purpose every single day.

Career summary and accomplishments:

My coaching journey has been shaped by hands-on experience working with athletes across multiple levels—from high school to college and even professional sports. I had the opportunity to coach baseball at the AAU level before COVID-19 cut things short, but my passion for athlete development only grew stronger. Since then, I’ve dedicated my career to working with teams and individuals, helping them sharpen their mental edge, build resilience, and maximize their performance on and off the field. At RIT/NTID, I’ve supported multiple teams as a mental performance coach, integrating sports psychology strategies into training, competition, and recovery. I’ve worked closely with coaches and players to enhance focus, confidence, and consistency—three critical pillars of success in any sport. Beyond RIT, I’ve coached athletes in baseball, football, tennis, lacrosse, soccer, basketball, cross country, track & field, volleyball, wrestling, and more, tailoring my approach to fit the unique demands of each sport. My coaching philosophy is built around helping athletes close the gap between where they are and where they want to be. I focus on the details—the small adjustments in mindset, preparation, and execution that create a real difference. Whether it’s leading team workshops, conducting individual sessions, or advising coaching staff on mental training techniques, my approach is rooted in creating high-performance environments where athletes can thrive. My ultimate goal is to develop competitors who not only perform at their peak but also embrace the process, enjoy the grind, and build the skills that translate beyond the game.

Best coach I ever had:

The best coach I ever had was Christopher "CT" Torres. I was fortunate to learn from many high-level coaches, but CT had a unique impact on me. He spent time in the minor leagues across multiple organizations, and his father was a coach for the San Francisco Giants. His knowledge of the game was top-tier, but what truly set him apart was his ability to develop players beyond just their skills.

CT created a clubhouse culture that balanced hard work with enjoyment. He had a way of making the grind something you wanted to embrace. He helped us understand that the process was far more important than the outcome. The journey of getting from where you are to where you want to be was something to enjoy, not just endure.

He also drilled into us that the little things matter, that the details add up over time, and that if you're going to put in the work, you might as well have fun doing it. I try to bring that same energy into my coaching—fostering a culture where athletes work relentlessly but also love the process. CT captured that mentality perfectly, and his influence still shapes the way I approach coaching today.

What athletes and parents should know about me:

Athletes and parents should know that I’ve been through the fire. I grew up facing adversity, and if Vegas were taking bets on my success, the odds would have been stacked against me. I came up through the ranks as a deaf athlete, and I know exactly what it means to battle every little thing—opinions, fears, doubts, anxieties, prejudice, teammates, coaches, and even my own mind.

I know what it takes to win, not just in the game but in life. I’ve lived it. I’ve pushed through obstacles that seemed impossible and come out stronger on the other side. That’s why I do what I do—I help athletes close the gap between where they are and where they want to be, on and off the field.

For parents, I want you to know that I don’t just focus on performance; I focus on building resilient, confident athletes who develop the skills to succeed in competition and beyond. The lessons learned in sports—mental toughness, self-belief, discipline—carry into every aspect of life.

For athletes, if you’re willing to put in the work, I’ll help you get there. Not just physically, but mentally. Because in the end, it’s not just about being the best athlete—it’s about becoming the best version of yourself.
