Athletic Background
Summary of Career and Accomplishments
I was a professional swimmer for 10+ years, during my competitive swimming career I would compete in mostly Butterfly but also freestyle. I was able to qualify for my states national finals every year since entering my professional swimming career and had the privilege to compete against the most inspiring swimmers! I throughout the years, was able to qualify for a few competitions in Europe and experience competitions in a very professional level.
Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
My coach is now long retired, and never officially made any world breaking records, but was always teaching me how to love and trust the water, how to work with it and use it to my advantage! My coach opened a whole new world for me that ended up creating my swimming career and the passion I have for teaching it now! I want to give other kids the experience I was so lucky to have and I want to keep sharing his amazing teachings and pass them forward!
What should athletes and parents know about you?
I have a deep passion for teaching swimming and sharing my knowledge. For me, swimming isn’t just a skill.. it’s a vital life saving practice that opens new opportunities for everyone, whether it’s building confidence in a child, enhancing performance for a professional athlete, or providing essential safety skills. I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of swimmers, and I approach each lesson with care, patience, and a personalized plan recognizing that everyone is different. My goal is to make swimming both enjoyable and empowering, giving every student, regardless of their age or ability, the tools to thrive in and around the water.
Coaching Background
Summary of Coaching Background
I have been teaching and coaching swimmers in different opportunities for the past 7+ years. During that time I worked with a verity of different types of students, for example an infant as young as 3 months old for hydrotherapy, a 77 year old who wanted to learn how to swim properly before his first scuba diving trip, a professional athlete who independently wanted to work on the notes his coach gave him in his last competition and different students who require special needs.
How can you help someone improve their game?
I first like to observe the level of the student. Ask questions in regards to their professional team as well as any specific notes they received from their groups coach. I also like asking the students to speak about the things in their technique or strengths that concern them or that they would simply just like to improve. By doing so, while observing my students skill level, I can better pinpoint the things they struggle more with or feel less confident about and find the correct approach.
What does a typical training session look like?
The training sessions/ swimming lessons looks different with every student depending on their skill level. The training sessions on the professional level however do have a common factor such as a short warmup prior to entering the more intense parts of the session to avoid any “sports injuries”, as well as a more highlighted focus on the specific goal they’re trying to accomplish in the session.
