Get to know Coach Chad

About Me:

As a 5-time NAIA All-American and 5-year scholar-athlete, I have consistently demonstrated excellence both on the track and in the classroom. I hold school records in the 400-meter hurdles and 4x400 relay, achievements that have stood strong since 2012. Balancing athletics and academics, I graduated cum laude as a student-athlete, earning honor roll and Deans list, recognition and both academic and track scholarships. My dedication to discipline, performance, and education showcases my ability to inspire and lead in any setting.

How I can help you improve your game:

1.Personalized Training: I assess each athlete’s strengths and weaknesses, tailoring drills and workouts to address specific areas for improvement, ensuring steady progress.

2.Mental Toughness: Through my own experience as a student-athlete, I teach resilience, focus, and how to maintain a winning mindset, especially under pressure.

3.Technique and Skill Development: I break down key movements and strategies, providing detailed instruction to improve form, speed, and execution whether in track, field, or team sports.

4.Accountability and Motivation: I create an environment of support, holding athletes accountable while pushing them to set and achieve goals they might not have thought possible.

5.Life Lessons: Beyond the game, I mentor athletes in leadership, teamwork, and discipline preparing them for success in all aspects of life.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

1. Warm-Up (10-15 minutes):

We begin with dynamic stretches and mobility exercises to activate the muscles and get the body prepared for activity. Light cardio and sport-specific movements help improve blood flow and flexibility before we dive into the main workout.

2. Skill Development (30-45 minutes):

This is the core of the session, focused on refining technique and improving key sport-specific skills. Drills will target areas like agility, speed, and strength. I’ll provide hands-on feedback to correct form and challenge the athlete to push their limits.

3. Strength and Conditioning (30-45 minutes):

Strength-building exercises and conditioning drills will help enhance endurance, power, and overall athleticism. Exercises will be tailored to the athlete’s specific needs and goals to improve performance.

4. Mental Focus (5-10 minutes):

We’ll incorporate mental training, including goal setting, visualization, and mindfulness exercises, to help the athlete strengthen their focus and build mental toughness.

5. Cool-Down Stretching (15-20 minutes):

We finish with a focused cool-down, including static stretches that promote flexibility and recovery. This period will help relax the muscles, reduce soreness, and enhance overall mobility while giving the athlete time to reflect on the session.

Career summary and accomplishments:

With over 9 years of one-on-one coaching experience, I’ve mentored young athletes not only in sports but also in life. As a 5-time NAIA All-American and record-setting athlete, I bring a wealth of knowledge to every training session. My approach goes beyond skill development I strive to be a mentor and a big brother, instilling confidence, discipline, and life lessons that prepare athletes for success both on and off the field.

Best coach I ever had:

The best coach I ever had was My Collegiate Coach Shannon Maas. He elevated my collegiate career to the highest level, pushing me beyond my limits and instilling in me a mindset of excellence. What set Coach Maas apart was his sincerity and unwavering passion for his athletes. He was not just a coach but a mentor a man of deep values and true character.

Drawing from his own experiences as a successful athlete, he developed coaching principles rooted in discipline, resilience, and integrity. He didn’t just train me physically; he invested in my growth as an individual, always leading by example. One of the most remarkable aspects of his coaching was his selflessness he worked tirelessly to help me surpass even his own records, demonstrating his commitment to the success of his athletes above all else.

Coach Maas didn’t just shape me as an athlete; he shaped me as a person, leaving a lasting impact that continues to influence how I approach challenges in all areas of life.

What athletes and parents should know about me:

Athletes and parents should know that I bring a deep passion for developing talent both on and off the field. As a 5-time NAIA All-American and a former student-athlete who graduated cum laude, I understand the dedication, discipline, and balance required to excel in both sports and academics.

I’m not just focused on building athletes I’m committed to fostering confidence, resilience, and a strong work ethic that prepares young people for life beyond competition. My coaching is rooted in values, integrity, and my own athletic experiences, including breaking school records that still stand today.

Above all, I genuinely care about the success and well-being of every athlete I work with. I create a supportive and motivating environment where young athletes can reach their full potential, learn important life lessons, and achieve goals they never thought possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you find yourself needing to cancel or adjust your booking within 24 hours of your purchase, just let us know. We'll provide a refund - no questions asked. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we're here to support your learning journey.

Our coaches are open to helping athletes of any age and skill level. Please message your desired coach to ensure their skillset fits your needs.

AU was created by former collegiate and professional athletes. We understand the benefits of training with a private coach. It develops discipline, boosts confidence, and provides an undeniable advantage - whether you are just learning the game or looking to earn a college scholarship. All AU coaches are required to pass a thorough onboarding process and we proudly showcase a 10% acceptance rate, so you can trust you're training with the best.

At the end of the day, our mission is to provide athletes with better opportunities to succeed through coaching. You won't find a platform, and group of dedicated specialists, more excited to help you achieve your athletic goals!
