Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
My Dad! My Dad taught me everything I know about football
What should athletes and parents know about you?
As a coach with 17 years of experience in football, I bring not just knowledge of the game but a deep commitment to developing well-rounded individuals. My philosophy goes beyond wins and losses; it’s about teaching life skills through the game—resilience, discipline, teamwork, and the value of hard work.
I believe in meeting every athlete where they are, whether they’re a seasoned player or stepping onto the field for the first time. My coaching style is rooted in trust and respect, and I make it a priority to create an environment where athletes feel valued and supported.
One of the most rewarding moments in my career was coaching a team of 17 players, many of whom had never played football before. Despite countless challenges, we won a state championship. This experience shaped my belief that with the right mindset, heart, and preparation, any obstacle can be overcome.
For parents, I want you to know that I see your children as more than just athletes. My goal is to help them grow as leaders, build character, and prepare for life beyond the game. Football is a tool, but the lessons learned extend far beyond the field.
In every practice, every game, and every conversation, I strive to instill confidence, purpose, and the belief that success is not just about the scoreboard—it’s about the person your child becomes in the process.

How can you help someone improve their game?
Improving someone’s game starts with understanding where they are and where they want to go. I focus on identifying strengths, addressing weaknesses, and building a solid foundation of fundamentals. Whether it’s refining technique, improving physical conditioning, or strengthening the mental side of the game, I take a holistic approach tailored to each athlete.
I emphasize teaching rather than just instructing. This means breaking down skills step-by-step, ensuring athletes understand the "why" behind what we do. Once they grasp the fundamentals, I challenge them to push their limits, helping them grow beyond what they thought was possible.
Equally important is developing mental toughness and confidence. I guide athletes on how to stay focused under pressure, bounce back from mistakes, and approach every play with a winning mindset. I believe the game is as much about attitude and preparation as it is about physical ability.
Communication is key. I take the time to give clear feedback, celebrate progress, and motivate players to stay disciplined and consistent. Improvement doesn’t happen overnight, but with effort and belief, every athlete can reach new levels.
My goal is not just to improve performance on the field but also to equip players with tools they can use to succeed in all areas of life. Whether it’s staying composed during a big game or handling challenges off the field, the lessons we work on extend far beyond the game itself.
What does a typical training session look like?
A typical training session is carefully structured to maximize both time and results. It’s designed to focus on key areas like fundamentals, skill development, conditioning, and the mental aspects of the game. Here’s a breakdown of how it usually flows:
Warm-Up (10-15 minutes):
We start with a dynamic warm-up to get the body ready to perform. This includes mobility exercises, stretching, and drills to improve agility, balance, and coordination. It’s about preparing the mind and body to give 100% while reducing the risk of injury.
Skill Development (20-30 minutes):
This segment focuses on position-specific techniques and fundamentals. For example, quarterbacks work on footwork and passing mechanics, while linemen focus on hand placement and blocking techniques. Drills are tailored to the athlete’s role and skill level, ensuring progress in the areas that matter most.
Team or Situational Drills (15-20 minutes):
Athletes practice executing plays or reacting to game scenarios, emphasizing teamwork, communication, and decision-making. This helps them connect individual skills to the bigger picture of the game.
Conditioning and Strength (15-20 minutes):
Conditioning is integrated into the session with high-intensity drills or short bursts of work that simulate game-like situations. Depending on the athlete’s needs, this might also include strength training or functional exercises to build explosiveness and endurance.
Mental Training (5-10 minutes):
Every session incorporates elements of mental preparation—visualization exercises, goal setting, or discussions about focus and resilience. These moments teach athletes how to handle pressure and stay locked in during competition.
Cool-Down and Reflection (5-10 minutes):
We finish with a cool-down that includes light stretching, breathing exercises, and a recap of the session. This is a chance for athletes to reflect on what went well, identify areas for improvement, and set goals for the next session.
Every training session is built on effort, intention, and progression. Whether it’s an individual or a team setting, the goal is to ensure that athletes leave better prepared—physically, mentally, and emotionally—than when they arrived.
