About Me:

Cardan Williams is a highly accomplished athlete and scholar with a distinguished career in both track and field and football. Starting his athletic journey at the age of five, he became an ACC Champion in Men’s Track and Field at Clemson University and a SoCon Football Champion at The Citadel. He is also 4th all-time in sprinting history at The Citadel. In addition to his athletic success, Cardan excelled academically, earning a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science and a Master’s in Athletic Leadership. He was a Dean’s List student and received the ACC All-Honor Roll recognition for his dedication to both athletics and academics. His career is a testament to his relentless commitment to excellence, leadership, and performance, both on and off the field.

How I can help you improve your game:

To help athletes improve their game, I take a holistic approach that focuses on physical, mental, and tactical development. I provide personalized skill development, tailoring training to each athlete’s specific needs and refining technique for maximum performance. Mental toughness is a key focus; I teach athletes how to stay focused, resilient, and confident under pressure through techniques like visualization, goal-setting, and positive self-talk.

I also emphasize game awareness, helping athletes understand strategy and make smarter decisions during competition. Through sport-specific conditioning, I boost their strength, agility, and injury prevention, ensuring they perform at their best. Leadership and teamwork are also central to my coaching, as I encourage athletes to take ownership, communicate effectively, and support their teammates.

Consistency, accountability, and adaptability are crucial, and I work with athletes to stay committed, track their progress, and adapt to various challenges. Ultimately, I strive to help athletes improve their performance, build mental and physical resilience, and develop the mindset of a champion.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

A typical training session is tailored to the athlete’s event, focusing on both physical and mental preparation. It begins with a dynamic warm-up and stretching to prevent injury and enhance flexibility. Form running drills follow, emphasizing proper mechanics like posture, arm drive, and foot placement.

The core of the session includes event-specific drills: for sprinters, we work on starts, acceleration, and top-speed running; for distance athletes, we focus on pacing and stamina. Cardio and conditioning follow, using interval training or tempo runs to build endurance and simulate race conditions.

The session concludes with a cool-down, including light jogging and static stretching to aid recovery and prevent soreness. Overall, the goal is to improve technique, strength, and mental focus to enhance race-day performance.

Career summary and accomplishments:

Over the past 10 years, I’ve had the privilege of coaching and mentoring athletes at various levels, helping them develop both physically and mentally. My coaching journey began at my high school alma mater, where I worked with young athletes to instill the fundamentals of their sport while also emphasizing the importance of discipline, work ethic, and resilience. At The Citadel, I had the opportunity to mentor teammates on both the football and track teams, providing guidance on not only technical skills but also mental preparation and leadership. Whether it was helping football players build strength and strategy or coaching track athletes on sprinting technique, my focus was always on developing a winning mindset and fostering teamwork. At Clemson University, I took on the responsibility of mentally preparing my teammates to excel under pressure, using my own experiences as a competitor to guide them through the mental challenges of high-level competition. From setting goals and building confidence to managing setbacks, I helped athletes understand how mental toughness and emotional resilience can be just as important as physical ability. Throughout this journey, I’ve always been driven by the belief that success isn’t just about the physical aspects of the sport—it’s about developing the character, mindset, and leadership skills that translate into every part of life. Whether working with high school athletes, college teammates, or individuals looking to improve their performance, I’ve dedicated the past decade to helping athletes reach their fullest potential and succeed both on and off the field.

Best coach I ever had:

Coach Kut is hands down the best coach I’ve ever had. He didn’t just develop my athletic skills; he taught me the deeper meaning behind every action—both on the field and in life. His guidance shaped my mindset, discipline, and understanding of what it truly takes to succeed.

What athletes and parents should know about me:

As an athlete and coach, I understand what it takes to earn success, especially when the odds are stacked against you. I grew up in a small town and started my journey as a walk-on athlete, working hard to earn my scholarships and prove my worth. Through dedication and perseverance, I became an ACC Champion in Track and Field, a SoCon Football Champion, and the 4th all-time sprinter at The Citadel.

In addition to my athletic career, I earned a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science and a Master’s in Athletic Leadership, which allows me to bring a well-rounded approach to coaching. My experiences as a Dean’s List student and ACC All-Honor Roll honoree also taught me the importance of balancing academics, athletics, and personal growth.

I know the value of hard work and overcoming obstacles, and I’m passionate about sharing those lessons with athletes. Whether you’re looking to take your performance to the next level or seeking a coach who prioritizes both athletic development and personal growth, I’m here to help you unlock your full potential and achieve your goals—no matter where you start.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place.
