Recognizing suspicious behavior:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Phishing<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neither Athletes Untapped, nor clients of Athletes Untapped, will ever ask you for your username, password, address, ID, etc.. However, phishing messages usually include requests for personal information such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Your full name<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Your email address<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Your phone number<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Your password<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Your financial information<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Phishing messages may also contain a link that looks like it leads to a trusted website, but it may download malicious software to your computer. If you believe you\u2019ve received a message like this on Athletes Untapped, don\u2019t respond or click any links. Instead, alert Athletes Untapped right away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Overpayment<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In this situation, you may be asked to accept payment outside of the Athletes Untapped website. This person may send you a check for more than they owe you, and then ask you to reimburse them. Typically the check they give you will bounce, but they\u2019ll keep the money you sent them. Never accept payment via cash or check – only accept payment through Athletes Untapped.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Advance fee<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In this situation, you may be asked to accept payment outside of the Athletes Untapped website through various payment services. They\u2019ll usually offer a reward which never materializes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Other unusual requests:<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Keep an eye out for other unusual requests or behaviors, such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Messages that ask you to provide a service unrelated to Athletes Untapped.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Messages from a client asking you to contact their friend outside of Athletes Untapped because they\u2019d like to use your services, such as the client\u2019s \u201cboss\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Messages that use odd or complicated language and\/or include a sympathetic story that may seem over the top.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Personal info that suddenly changes and is different than what they\u2019ve told you before, like a family member\u2019s name or their email address.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    5. Impatient behavior, like a client who wants you to respond or do something that seems questionable right away.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      If you experience any of the above situations, please contact us as soon as possible. The sooner we know, the sooner we can help.
