Mahomes grew up in Texas, where his father, Pat Mahomes Sr., played professional baseball as a Major League pitcher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Being around professional athletes from a young age gave Mahomes exposure to high-level competition and training. He spent time in clubhouses, watched how professional athletes prepared, and learned the discipline required to compete at the highest levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Skills Baseball Gave Him<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Mahomes played baseball seriously. In high school, he was an elite pitcher and was even drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 2014 MLB Draft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many analysts believe his baseball background helped shape his unique style as a quarterback. Pitchers develop arm strength, accuracy, and the ability to throw from multiple angles which are clearly visible in his basketball skills today.
